Smartboards
In my opinion I think that smartboards are kind of a waste of money. But from what I've read it can actually make teaching and learning easier in many different ways. It makes it easier to do PowerPoint's, and makes class interaction easier from kids to understand. When you use a smartboard you can type things up or write things up and then automatically save them on your computers hard drive and not have to write them over and over again for each class, all you have to do is pull them up. In my high school we had a coupe of smartboards in some class rooms, I liked having them there but they are complicated in some ways. If you don't out the markers back in the right slot then you are still writing in that color and not the one you actually wanted to be writing in, its easy for the eraser to get lost also because it just sits in a little round coaster type thing that hangs off of the actual board. So yes and no for the smartoards. I think if the school has the money for smartboards then buy them and if the school doesn't and can't afford them then don't get them because you are still learning regardless if you have the smartboard or not.

texting and twittering
I think that if you text and tweet it does in some way have an impact on the way you write. If you text and tweet a lot then you tend to misspell words and use the short way to spell words which can impact the way to write and tend to mess you up or get you into trouble. Say your writing a final exam paper and you misspell a lot of words or use the short way to spell and word and then you forget to spell check the paper before you turn it in, you then fail the class because of the way you used your grammar. I'm not saying that texting or tweeting is a bad thing to do because I do both but it can affect the way you use words, you just have to be careful in the ways that you use words.
Learning Style
So I just took the learning style test and it says that I am a multi learner which I believe I am, because I don't just learn in one way I learn in many different ways. When I become a teacher I plan to teach in many different ways so that every child in my classroom learns in the way he or she needs to learn and doesn't have to try and learn in a way that he/she can't. Learning isn't that easy for little kids but if they learn in a way that they can understand then it becomes easier for them to pay attention and learn what they are suppose to.

5th Grades Attitudes Towards Using Edmodo
I think that the students attitudes changed from using Edmodo. Using Edmodo makes them want to write more because it is a different way of writing for them, it interests them more. Using Edmodo is a good way for students to get use to writing. I think that them using Edmodo as a way of writing changed their attitudes towards writing a little bit, because it was something they could enjoy, and its a collaborative way to write. They also enjoyed sharing their stories with us, and having us read them.

21st Century Writing.
I think that schools don't prepare students for the jobs they are going to have later in life. School need to prepare students in so many different ways to get them prepared, they need to be hands on, and do things in ways that everyone can understand. Students aren't pushed to their fullest capability by their parents or their teachers, so teachers aren't the only ones to blame. When students get to college they are not prepared and don't know what to do or how to react, so how are they going to be able to react when they get to their jobs in real life? Teachers and parents need to make a bigger effort into preparing students for the things that are coming to them later on in their lives.

Teaching with Media.. Yes or No?
I think that using media for teaching is a good way to get things across to kids these days because they spend most of their time on the computer and internet anyway so why not teach them that way too? If teaching them on the computer will keep them interested and help them do their homework, why not do it? I think that if more teachers were to teach this way it would make a bigger impact on kids. I think this lesson is a good way to show how teaching over the internet is a good thing. This lesson provides students with the opportunity to look at mass media in a critical way. The students will become aware of the tremendous amount of advertising that they are exposed to on a daily basis. By looking at advertising critically, students begin to understand how the media oppresses certain groups, convinces people to purchase certain products, and influences culture.
