5th Grades Attitudes Towards Using Edmodo

I think that the students attitudes changed from using Edmodo. Using Edmodo makes them want to write more because it is a different way of writing for them, it interests them more. Using Edmodo is a good way for students to get use to writing. I think that them using Edmodo as a way of writing changed their attitudes towards writing a little bit, because it was something they could enjoy, and its a collaborative way to write. They also enjoyed sharing their stories with us, and having us read them.

21st Century Writing.

I think that schools don't prepare students for the jobs they are going to have later in life. School need to prepare students in so many different ways to get them prepared, they need to be hands on, and do things in ways that everyone can understand. Students aren't pushed to their fullest capability by their parents or their teachers, so teachers aren't the only ones to blame. When students get to college they are not prepared and don't know what to do or how to react, so how are they going to be able to react when they get to their jobs in real life? Teachers and parents need to make a bigger effort into preparing students for the things that are coming to them later on in their lives.

Teaching with Media.. Yes or No?

I think that using media for teaching is a good way to get things across to kids these days because they spend most of their time on the computer and internet anyway so why not teach them that way too? If teaching them on the computer will keep them interested and help them do their homework, why not do it? I think that if more teachers were to teach this way it would make a bigger impact on kids. I think this lesson is a good way to show how teaching over the internet is a good thing. This lesson provides students with the opportunity to look at mass media in a critical way. The students will become aware of the tremendous amount of advertising that they are exposed to on a daily basis. By looking at advertising critically, students begin to understand how the media oppresses certain groups, convinces people to purchase certain products, and influences culture.
